Ahoy there, curious internet surfers!

Thanks for popping by. We’d offer you a pasty, but the internet isn’t that advanced yet.

However, we can propose a leisurely scroll through our online bookshop to hopefully tempt you into buying a book or two, or even start a small library – as every purchase funds more stories, more dreams, and at least one pasty per author.

Apart from our dazzling sales blurb, you’ve probably noticed that our site is looking a little…minimalist! Fear not, we have not left the county, we’ve just temporarily stripped it back to basics while we work behind the scenes rebuilding a shiny new home for Cornish Authors.

Think Grand Designs, but with more opportunities and fewer dramatic pauses, while we pull off the writing community equivalent of a throuple, to entwine The Writers Collective and Cornwall Writers with The Hermitage Press. It’s going to be magical. Possibly chaotic, and will definitely involve pasties at one point or another.

Are you a Cornish Author? Were you born in Cornwall, or do you currently live/work in the county. Can you spell Trevithick without Googling it? Then we want to hear from you! But not just yet! Our next submission window opens on May 16th, to coincide with the Cornish Indie Book Festival. So get polishing your fiction manuscript, or non-fiction idea, in readiness to pitch your heart out!

Winner, winner…

Winner of the Literary Fiction category of the infamous Holyer an Gof Publishers’ Awards!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce our lovely anthology, ‘Twelve Stories for Twelve Sections’, produced in collaboration with Cornwall National Landscape, twelve incredible authors, illustrator James Innerdale and printed by TJ Books, was crowned winner of the Literary Fiction category at this year’s Holyer an Gof Publishers’ Awards.

It was so heart warming to see so many creatives at the event and thank you to the many readers, judges and volunteers who organise the awards each year. There are a few hardbacks left of this book, here and there across Cornwall, so grab one whilst you can … failing that, it is available on Kindle and at most Cornwall Libraries, with an announcement regarding the paperback release, due soon!

We’re thrilled to announce our little press will soon be under new management…welcome sam stone

A former graduate of Falmouth School of Art and Reading University, Sam’s diverse career as a Designer, Production Editor and Writer in the creative industries of both France and the UK, has allowed her to work with a variety of specialised businesses and publishers on a range of inspiring projects.

She runs her own business in Penryn and works primarily as a Freelance Writer, Transmedia Storyteller and Story Designer for a variety of clients in the UK, US and Europe. She also manages the not for profit Cornwall Writers and The Writers Collective (responsible for the annual Falmouth & Penryn Fringe Book Festival) which, once the handover is complete, will be integrated into Hermitage Press (Cornwall) to establish the press as a comprehensive representative of Cornish Writers and Authors.
